The Jacksonville Jazz Festival

This weekend was the Jazz festival in the downtown area.  You were able to hear many live bands and get some food.  The kick off of this event was on Friday May 27 until Sunday.  The sun was so awfully hot out there this weekend.  So for all that came it was good that they brought an umbrella and dressed for the occasion.  Everyone was in need of a lot of fluids to keep them so very hydrated and to all that came out to support the event I hope each and everyone of you had a wonderful time.

Who Really Knows What Happened

   This posting is something that is very dear to my heart.  This young man was killed by an officer on Tuesday morning.  He is a very close family member of mine and I sat and listened to the news broadcast about the story, but the underlying question is why was he shoot he was not a threat and he did not raise his weapon a no one.  While they say it could be just a case of miscommunication that does not allow the people that loved him better rest at night.  If simple protocol was taken the officer that killed him would have known if he had identified himself he would have immediately known he was not a threat.  I understand they have a very serious and life threatening job but they signed up for it and all colored people are not moving targets.  This was a ambitious young man that had many goals in life and now his life has ended why can anyone say besides a miscommunication the time line is off and we'll never be able to see him achieve the rest of his goals.
